Run2renew
What is run2renew.
My name is Charlie and at the age of 10 I set up the Run2Renew charity after taking part in a ParkRun event in South Africa. I was shocked at how many of the children my age were running in bare feet and after speaking to the organiser I wanted to help.
At Run2Renew we collect shoes and T-shirts that may be at the end of their time for you, but still have some life left for someone else. We are associated with the Cannibals ParkRun in the Drakensberg Mountains South Africa, where Lizzy has helped children and adults from the poorest parts of the local community run the 5km ParkRun every Saturday.
ParkRun is a free to enter 5km timed event held each week in over 22 counties and is the largest regular sporting event in the world with over 9 million participants.
Having run over 400 events, Lizzy knows how important it is to help young athletes join a running community every week and enjoy the thrill of running 5km. There is always a shortage of sporting equipment in these rural areas and with our help we collect running shoes and T-shirts, that she can award to dedicated but disadvantaged youngsters.
Giving back to a running community
collecting shoes for a 2nd life
If you have finished with your running shoes that doesn’t always mean they have no life left. If your children have grown out of shoes or you are simply replacing them, we will find a welcome recipient who would love to use them.
Collection t-shirts
We need any old running T-shirts from sporting events or any athletic tops of all sizes.
How to help
Donate any old running shoes or T-shirts that might find a good 2nd life for one of our runners out in Africa. Please use the Donate form to find out how.
